On Sunday, the Truth Squad at The Seattle Times reprimanded the Washington State Democratic Party for its ham-handed attack on Rob, in which the Democrats take a quote from Rob in a 2004 Times article completely out of context. Perhaps next time the party wants to cite a newspaper, it shouldn’t stretch the truth so far that the same paper calls the attack "false."

Even worse, the next day, Congressman Jay Inslee completely ignored the fact that the attack had been labeled false and used the exact same quote and attack in an e-mail from his campaign.

Look, we all know that the other side in this campaign is going to be nasty – in fact, the State Democratic Party launched an attack web site against Rob two years ago! Congressman Inslee and the State Party are apparently out of ideas on how to lead Washington State, so they have to resort to these kinds of tactics. While Rob is putting forth specific policies to move our state in a New Direction, they are just trying to tear him down without offering any solutions of their own.

Shouldn’t we expect more from Congressman Inslee, who is running again for governor? Shouldn’t we expect a positive vision from him instead of repeating falsehoods from Chairman Dwight Pelz and the State Democratic Party?

Our state deserves a better debate - it’s time to tell Congressman Inslee to stop repeating the Democratic Party lies!
